"Three Nights with Madox" to go on stage in Tehran
TEHRAN –Iranian director Shiva Dinarvand plans to stage Romanian-French playwright and novelist Matei Visniec's play "Three Nights with Madox" in Tehran in near future.
Masoud Keramati, Bahareh Rahnama, Vahid Nafar, Javad Yahyavi and Milad Ramezani are the main members of the cast for the play.
"Three Nights with Madox" is a play that centers around the arrival of a stranger named Madox in a harbor town full of struggling individuals.
As he settles into the town, everyone soon learns that Madox is not like the others, and his mere presence begins to unravel the secrets and lies of the tight-knit community.
Through three nights, the characters are forced to confront their pasts and come to grips with the issues that plague them. The play is a truthful portrayal of how individuals can struggle and be trapped in their lives, but how one stranger can ignite hope and provide a chance for redemption.
Matei Visniec is a prolific writer who has created several plays and poetry collections. Born in Romania, Visniec moved to Paris in 1987, where he began to focus on his freelance career. Visniec's works often confront political and social issues, using poetic language and surrealist storytelling. His work has been translated into over 20 languages and performed in theaters worldwide, making him a highly regarded and respected writer in contemporary theater.
